Giving Notice of Marriage

If you have any questions about giving notice of marriage in Bexley or arranging a ceremony contact our ceremonies team.

Before you can register your marriage, it is a legal requirement that both of you give notice of the marriage at your local register office.

Contact your local register office to make an appointment to give notice.

Due to the exceptional increased demand for ceremonies, the Kent and Bexley Registration Service is unable to take any further bookings for the months of July and August. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but we must ensure we are able to deliver those ceremonies that are already booked.

If you would like to make a booking outside of these summer months, please contact us to complete the booking process. Due to the high level of demand, it may take us longer to get to your enquiry than normal but will get back to you as soon as possible.

Arrange and book your wedding

Search A Kentish Ceremony for licensed venues and register offices for information about booking a wedding, venues, ideas and suppliers.

Ceremonies can take place with social distancing measures still in place. The size of the room, allowing for social distancing, determines the guest capacity allowed at each ceremony.

Fees are payable for:

  • notice of marriage
  • attendance of registration staff at the ceremony (including a non-refundable booking confirmation fee to guarantee your chosen date and time)
  • marriage certificate(s)
