Waiting lists

Parents not offered a place at their first preference school will automatically be included on the waiting list for higher preference schools than the one offered.

A child’s name cannot be included on the waiting list for a grammar school unless he or she has achieved a high enough score in Bexley’s selection tests to be deemed selective.

The London Borough of Bexley will pass on waiting list requests to the admission authority for the school. Waiting lists are kept in the same order as the over-subscription criteria for the school.

If a vacancy arises in a school before the start of the term in September 2024, the school will inform the Bexley School Admissions Team who the place can be offered to, and the home Local Authority will send an offer letter. If that parent does not accept the offer, it will be offered to the child next on the waiting list. This procedure will be followed until the vacancy is accepted.
