The Council has a legal responsibility under the Environment Act 2021 to take action to conserve and enhance biodiversity and to report publicly on those actions.
This report covers the period 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2025. It explains work undertaken across the Council to conserve and enhance biodiversity, including Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) secured through planning decisions, and sets out priorities for the next reporting period.
