Details of Non-Automatic Monitoring Sites

No non-automatic monitoring was undertaken during 2025. However, a diffusion tube monitoring campaign was carried out during the previous year (January 2024 to January 2025) to assess geographical variations in nitrogen dioxide (NO2) concentrations across the Air Quality Focus Areas (AQFAs). Monitoring was undertaken at locations in and around the A2 Rochester Way Road corridor in Erith and Welling, within and adjacent to these AQFAs. Further details of the monitoring programme and its findings are provided in the 2024 Annual Status Report (ASR) and Diffusion Tube Monitoring Report 2024.

It should be noted that the purpose of the 2024 diffusion tube survey was not to assess long-term trends in NO2 concentrations. Rather, the survey was specifically designed to investigate spatial variations in NO2 levels within the Focus Areas, providing a greater understanding of how concentrations vary geographically across each area and helping to identify locations where further investigation or targeted action may be warranted.
