Danson Park Adventures Sailing

Monday Night Adult Evening Paddlesport or Sailing (6.30pm to 8.30pm May - August)

Adult Evening is the perfect way to experience a water sport whether you’re a beginner, experienced or returning to an old hobby. These relaxed sessions are led by our team of experienced instructors. To participate in sailing you should be at the skill level of the RYA level 1 course. If you are a beginner and would like to try sailing for the first time during this session please contact the centre.

Friday Adult Afternoon Paddlesport or Sailing - 4pm to 6pm May to September or 1.30pm to 3.30pm October to November

The adult afternoon is a great way to get on the water and experience Sailing, Kayaking or Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP). Whether you’re a beginner, experienced or returning to an old hobby, these sessions are ideal. A relaxed session led by our team of experienced instructors. To participate in sailing you should be at the skill level of the RYA level 1 course. If you are a beginner and would like to try sailing for the first time during this session please contact the centre.

Saturday Adult Morning Paddlesports - 9.30am to 11.30am May to November

Adult Mornings are a refreshing way to start your weekend. Beginners to experienced paddlers, all are welcome. These relaxed sessions are in Kayaking or Stand Up Paddleboards and are run by our experienced instructors.

One to one

We offer one to one tuition in the following activities at the Centre – sailing, kayaking, canoeing and powerboating.

If you cannot make any of our course dates or prefer a course tailored to your needs, then this could be the best option for you.

We aim for our one-to-one sessions to be completed with an instructor on dates and times that suit both. These can be run from Mondays to Saturdays.

We have a variety of courses available for those looking to progress their individual skills and start gaining qualifications in your chosen activities.

Sailing

Royal Yachting Association

RYA Level One course - 9.30am to 4.30pm

The RYA Level One course is the introductory beginner's course into dinghy sailing. It is aimed at those who have done little or no dinghy sailing before.

It is the first part of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training scheme and is aimed at providing basic boat handling techniques and essential background knowledge.

By the end of the course, you will be able to sail safely under supervision.

Participants must be aged 16 and over.

A change of clothes is required for each session.

Included in the course:

  • RYA Level One Certificate
  • RYA Start Sailing Book
  • RYA Sailing Logbook
  • all equipment provided

RYA Level Two course - 9.30am to 4.30pm

The RYA Level Two Course is the second part of the RYA training scheme for those who have completed their level one or have equivalent experience.

Its aim is to consolidate your basic knowledge of sailing and develop awareness of safety.

It will be assumed that every student starting this course has already mastered the practical skills and absorbed the background knowledge required to start sailing.

By the end of the course, you will be capable of sailing a dinghy alone, without an instructor on board.

Participants must be aged 16 and over.

A change of clothes is required for each session.

Included in the course:

  • all required equipment
  • RYA Start Sailing book (if this is your first course with us) and national scheme

Adult Paddlesports - 9.30am to 4.30pm 

Discover Award

The British Canoeing Personal Performance Discover Awards are designed for paddlers wanting to gain recognition of their learning and development in Kayaking.

The Paddle Discover Awards enables the paddler to develop decision making and fundamental skills. After completing this course you will feel comfortable taking to the water on your own.

Intro to SUP course

These Into to SUP courses are a 2.5hr uncertificated course where we teach the beginnings of the Stand Up Paddleboarding, to start you on your journey and gain the interest and skills you might need to continue. Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has done a taster session or 2 in Stand Up Paddleboarding, this course is a great way to learn new and develop your existing skills.

Family Paddlesport Sessions - 9.30am to 12pm or 1.30pm to 4pm

Our Family Paddlesports Sessions give families the chance to get out on the water and bond together whilst taking part in a fun relaxed session run by our experienced instructors. These sessions run during the school holiday and are either Stand Up Paddleboarding (morning session) or Kayaking (afternoon session).
