Celebrating a vibrant summer across Bexley

This summer, Bexley’s town centres came alive with an extraordinary line-up of events, demonstrating strong community spirit and local pride across our Borough.

The Borough’s biggest charity event: Truck Pull

Now in its third successive year, the Truck Pull & Uniformed Services Day has cemented its place as Bexley’s premier charity event. Organised by newly elected ward Councillor Barry Saunders, who also serves as Chair of the Welling Town Business Associates (WTBA), the day brought thousands out to cheer on teams pulling six trucks over two miles from Welling to Bexleyheath.

An incredible line-up of volunteers, local businesses and community groups pulled together to raise vital funds for charities including We Are Beams, The Fire Fighters Charity, London Ambulance Charity, The REME Charity, Breast Cancer Now and Care of Police Survivors. The Leader of the Council, alongside Cabinet Members Councillor Sandhu and Councillor Smith, also rolled up their sleeves to join the pull. On Bexleyheath Broadway, crowds enjoyed an impressive array of emergency service vehicles and interactive demonstrations, showcasing the dedication of our uniformed services.

Family Fun at Super Saturday & Sidcup Fringe

Adding to the summer excitement in Bexleyheath, Super Saturday organised by Bexleyheath BID transformed the Broadway into a bustling hub of family fun. Thrilling live UK Pro Wrestling matches took centre stage right on the high street, alongside superhero character appearances, live entertainment and activities for all ages.

Meanwhile, the Sidcup Fringe Festival marked its third year at Rose Bruford College. Organised by Sidcup Partners BID, this popular community fixture showcased local creative talent alongside interactive family crafts and live performances.

The Best of Erith

Continuing as a well-loved summer fixture running for several years, Erith Made brought residents together by the riverside. Organised by the Erith Town Partnership (ETP), this inspiring festival brings together partners from across Erith to celebrate the rich history, local talent and creative energy of the town while driving vital footfall for independent makers and traders.
