Autumn 2026
If you’re worried about the rising cost of living, support is available. Whether you’re struggling to pay bills, manage debt or make ends meet, there are a range of local services that can help.
Our Cost of Living webpage brings together advice and practical support in one place. You will find information about financial assistance, debt and money advice, help with food, housing support, childcare and guidance on reducing your energy and water bills.
The webpage also includes details of local organisations that provide specialist support, employment and training opportunities, warm and welcoming community spaces and information about low-cost broadband and mobile phone tariffs.
Whatever your circumstances, you don’t have to face financial challenges alone. Taking action early can make a real difference and many services are free, confidential and tailored to your needs.
We understand that unexpected financial challenges can affect anyone. The Crisis and Resilience Fund has been established to provide short-term support for Bexley residents experiencing financial hardship as a result of unforeseen circumstances, helping to ease immediate pressures and support wellbeing.
The fund is available to individuals and families facing a crisis caused by situations such as a sudden loss of income, rising household costs, illness, family emergencies or other unexpected events. Support may be available towards essential living expenses and other urgent needs that can help residents regain financial stability and move forward with confidence.
Every application is assessed on an individual basis and treated with sensitivity, respect and confidentiality. In addition to providing practical assistance, we will work with residents to identify other sources of help and advice that may strengthen long-term financial resilience.
If you think you may be eligible for support, or if you are concerned about someone who may be struggling, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible.
The first step is to speak with a member of our team, who will discuss your circumstances, explain the help that may be available and guide you through the application process.
Don’t struggle alone, as support may be available and a simple conversation could be the first step towards getting the help you need.
