9. BCSP priorities 2025 to 2028
The BCSP’s ultimate objective is to reduce crime and its impact, while increasing community safety and resilience. To do this, we must address all crimes and forms of disorder and anti-social behaviour, ensuring there is efficient response to offending, and accessible and supportive services for victims.
However, we have to be realistic and prioritise resources based on need. This means tackling those forms of community risk which are high threat, risk and harm, based on evidence. Findings from the JSA and Bexley Community Safety Survey suggest that the 2025 to 2028 BCSP priority areas should be:
- anti-social behaviour
- serious violence
- domestic abuse
- community reassurance
This aligns with The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) London-wide priorities from the 2025 Police and Crime Plan:
- reducing violence and criminal exploitation
- building safer and more confident communities
- supporting and overseeing reform of the MP
- improving the criminal justice system and supporting victims
