Applicants must be prepared to combine their on-the-job learning whilst working towards a recognised qualification.

All apprentices are employed from day one on a fixed term contract. Successful applicants receive the same benefits as any other new employee. Most apprentices progress onto higher levels or employment at the end of the scheme.

Who should apply?

Anyone who has:

  • at least 5 GCSEs A-F (including Maths and English) or equivalent
  • a keen interest in Local Government
  • enthusiasm to learn on the job
  • determination to gain a formal qualification
  • priority is given to Bexley residents

Duration: 18 months

Hours: 36 per week (with release to college as required) - Monday to Friday
Salary: £12,573 per annum

Duration: 2 Years
Qualification: Level 3 Children and Young People's Social Care
Location: Belvedere Community Centre, Belvedere DA17 6AA
Department: Children's Services
Hours: 24 per week (with release to college as required)
Salary: £12,573 per annum pro rata
Closing date: Wednesday 13 December

Salary: £12,573 per annum
