The event offered a lively and heart-warming opportunity for the team to connect with residents, celebrate the start of the holidays, and share the importance of fostering within the borough.
One of the day’s biggest highlights was the appearance of a giant gingerbread character, whose warm welcome and playful charm delighted children and adults alike. The team spent the day meeting local families, answering questions, and sharing information about the vital role foster carers play in transforming the lives of children and young people in Bexley.
Charlotte from the Fostering Recruitment team said:
We were thrilled to be part of such a cherished community event, It’s always a pleasure to talk with residents about the difference fostering can make, not only to a child’s life, but to the whole community.”
The event provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about the need for more foster carers across the borough. With many children in Bexley looking for safe, supportive homes, the team encouraged anyone interested in fostering to reach out and learn more about the various ways they can get involved.
The Bexley Fostering Team extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, or took home information about fostering. As the lights lit up the Broadway, so too did the spirit of community, shining brightly on what was a memorable and meaningful day for all.
