The event was organised to bring foster families together for a day of seaside fun, games and relaxation during the school holidays.
Children enjoyed building sandcastles, taking part in beach games and spending time with friends, while carers had the opportunity to connect with one another, share experiences and strengthen their support networks. The day provided a welcoming environment where foster families could enjoy quality time together and create lasting memories.
The London Borough of Bexley would like to thank all the foster carers, children and support staff who attended and helped make the day such a success. Their enthusiasm and commitment contributed to a positive, uplifting atmosphere throughout the event.
Jess, Fostering Together Lead, said:
Our beach day at Joss Bay was a wonderful opportunity for foster families to come together, have fun and celebrate the incredible role that foster carers play in the lives of children and young people. Seeing families enjoying themselves, building friendships and strengthening connections was truly heartwarming."
The event also highlighted the ongoing need for more foster carers. People from all backgrounds can make a significant difference by providing a safe, stable and nurturing home for a child in care.
