From 2 June, Bexley Business & Employment will be relocating to the Civic Offices

From Monday 2 June, the Bexley Business & Employment team will be relocating to the Council's main building at the Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, DA6 7AT.

Directions to the Civic Offices

By Public Transport:

  • the nearest Train Station is Barnehurst Station (Southeastern), Bexleyheath DA7 6HH
  • the walk from the Station to the Civic Offices is about 15 to 20 minutes
  • Bus Routes: 229, 401, 99, B12, 96, 301, 269 to Bexleyheath Town Centre then a 10-minute walk to Civic Offices

By Car:

  • the nearest parking is Bexleyheath Cinema Car Park or Albion Road Car Park, behind the Marriott Hotel (parking charges may apply). Hall Place offers free parking and is about a 20-minute walk

Important Points:

  • Entrance: Enter the Civic Offices via the main entrance as displayed in the image above.
  • Reception: As you walk through the main entrance, follow signs for BBE and turn left and speak to the receptionist – inform them you are here to see Bexley Business & Employment (BBE) and the name of your Advisor. You will be required to sign in at reception using the digital signing-in pad.
  • Appointments from 3pm: You will be required to wait at the main entrance of the Civic Offices, and you will be met by a member of BBE staff. Please bring your appointment letter with you if you have one.
  • Café: Refreshments from the Civic Café are available
  • Accessibility: All employment support areas are on the Ground Floor with disabled toilet access.

When will BBE move?

BBE will move to the Council Civic Offices on Monday 2 June 2025.

What is the new address?

Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, DA6 7AT.

Will the BBE telephone number change?

No, the BBE telephone number will remain the same - 020 3045 3800.

Will the BBE opening hours stay the same?

Yes, we will keep the same opening hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Where can I park my car if I drive to my appointment?

You can park your car in the Cinema and Albion Road car parks nearby. Hall Place offers free parking.

What is disability access like at the new BBE centre?

The new BBE centre is fully accessible including toilets.

How do I report to reception?

When you arrive at the main Civic Office reception, follow the BBE signs and head left to the BBE reception.

What happens if my appointment is after 3pm?

The main entrance doors will be locked, please wait by the main door at your appointment time and a member of BBE staff will let you in.

How far is the new BBE centre from Bexleyheath Town Centre?

A short walk that will take approx. 5 to 10min walk.

How will I find my advisor?

Your Advisor will collect you from the BBE reception area.

Is there a café on site?

Yes, there is an onsite café that you can access in the BBE reception area.

Will BBE still have a Job Club?

Yes, Job Club will still take place.

Will BBE still have computers and a printer that I can use?

Yes, we will have a new public access area where you can use a computer to job search and print.

Will I still be reimbursed for my travel to and from appointments?

Yes, we will continue to reimburse your travel (programme eligibility applies).

Can I still just drop in?

Yes, but only up until 3pm.  After 3pm you must have an appointment.
